RECENT ADVANCES OF TANDEM MASS SPECTROMETRY
? Liquid chromatography coupled to tandem mass spectrometry has several advantages in biopharmaceuticals specially in accuracy, selectivity generic application without need for reusing analyte –

(MPS) Mucopolysaccharidoses are one of lysosomal storage disorder which is caused by the deficiency of lysosomal enzyme.
These enzymes are required to breakdown of glycosaminoglycans (GAGs) that help build bone, cartilage and connective tissue etc.
If the person is infected with (MPS) Mucopolysaccharidoses then due to deficiency of lysosome enzyme, the glycosaminoglycans Get accumulated in the bone, cartilage and connective tissue etc. which causes cellular damage ,affecting organs, appearance and physical abilities.
? Tandem mass spectrometry coupled with high performance liquid chromatography used for the measurement of vitamin B1 (thiamine-diphosphate) and B6 (pyridoxal-5’phosphate) in whole blood.
Here vitamin B1 and B6 are micronutrients. Analysis of this vitamin used for the diagnose potential deficiency which often occurred in elderly people due to malnutrition, severe alcoholism and disease person.

Tandem mass spectrometry coupled with ion exchange chromatography used for the determination of underivatized biogenic amines such as (trimethylamine, putrescine, cadaverine, histamine, 2-phenylethylamine, spermine, spermidine, tryptamine, agmatine, and tyramine) in cheese. Where the analysis of 10 biogenic amines in different types of cheese were separated by using cation exchange column, under gradient elution by using formic acid (0.01 M) and deionized water. Detection of these 10 biogenic amines was detected by tandem mass spectrometry.
? Where the deoxynucleotide tri phosphate (dNTPs) and nucleotide tri phosphate (NTPs) is important for the studies of DNA repair and replication. The high level of dNTPs and NTPs can be easily measured. But the low level of deoxynucleotide tri phosphate (dNTPs) and their chemical similarity to nucleotide tri phosphate (NTPs)
Present a challenge for the measurement. So now this can be measured by utilizing hydrophilic interaction liquid chromatography coupled with tandem mass spectrometry.
